Bass

En zoología, cualquiera de numerosas especies de peces, muchas apreciadas como alimento o pesca deportiva.

La mayoría pertenece a tres familias (todas del orden Perciformes): 400 especies de serránido y mero; la familia Moronidae, que contiene alrededor de 12 especies, incluidas el bass listado y el europeo, la perca sol, incluidos la perca negra y el bass bocudo, muy apreciados por los pescadores. Muchas otras especies también se conocen como bass, entre ellas el bass de los canales (burriqueta) y el bass calico (roboleta).
